Winter Reading Program:
On Tuesday, Feb 24 we hosted the in-library portion of our Winter Reading Program.
Our theme was “Celebrate!” We made God’s Eyes (a craft with yarn and Popsicle sticks used by some Mexican tribes in celebrations and in meditating). We also made up a holiday, wrote a story about it and then illustrated some drawings about the story. The drawings are posted in the library.
And here is the story:

Surplus Sale
A huge thank you to everyone who attended our surplus sale. We raised over $150! We will be expanding our collections of board books for early readers with these funds.
We will be donating the books which did not sell. Some will go to the local senior lodges (Athabasca, LLB and Boyle) and the Native Friendship Centre in Athabasca. They do not charge for books as they wish to encourage reading and to promote literacy in the community.
Thank you to Judy, Kath...

Alberta Library Conference
Many thanks again to the Athabasca County Library Board for sending me to the Alberta Library Conference at the end of April in Jasper. The key note speakers were incredible. We heard Neil Pasricha speak about his books about “AWESOME”. Neil started the blog to help himself out of a dark period of his life. He began blogging about all the incredible things he treasures in life like walking on crunchy leaves, flipping your pillow over to the ...
